The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making huge earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
